Fifth Day In Taipei (07/07/05)

Woke up pretty late as usual. Only near noon were we ready to proceed to our shopping area for today. The very famous Xi Men Ding (cannot find the Chinese character for Ding so decided to use Eng instead).

As per normal, we split into 2 different groups to shop. We were shopping halfway when showers suddenly hit us. From this rain, I can see that the Taiwan meteorological stations are damn accurate and efficient cos everybody around us seemed to be so prepared for the rain. Such a big country and yet their weather forecasts are so accurate, not like some small puny country self-acclaimed to be so technologically advanced and first-world, cannot even get their forecasts right.

Went to this CD shop and bought 1 CD and 3 singles. CD was a compilation with S.H.E. cartoon characters on the cover. All Eng songs. Have been trying to find this album for very long and had asked quite a few others to help me find previously when they went to Taiwan. 3 singles were from Cheer Chen Qi Zhen. Kinda collector items. So they became a must-buy for me.

Anyway, we found this very big underground shop which sells all sorts of clothes and most importantly, they sell extra large clothes. So I tried out quite a few clothes before finally deciding on two of those. The clothes are very cheap also. Each only costs NT$190, which is around SGD$10.

SMSed the others and found out that HX had gone to California Gym and the other 3 had gone back to the hostel to sleep. OMG!! HX is really a gym freak! And the other 3 actually said there is nothing much for them to shop in Xi Men Ding. Zzzzzzzz…… So we continued shopping on our own and then went to Mac for a break. Met up with HX before we returned to the hostel.

Spent the night sleeping while some of the others went to 台北 101 to see see look look. Then we went to Holiday KTV to sing karaoke!! Sorry to all those who took a long time to find the place and for walking so long. But I really dunno why the online maps all fake me one. Anyway, I dunno how long the distance was cos I took a cab there from our hostel. Actually we wanted to sing K from 7pm to 11pm but due to some misconception about the pricing and packages, we took the slot from 11pm to 6am. Yah. 6am!!

Anyway, although the prices cock up, but I was quite pleased with the package. Esp the part of the free flow food and drinks. They have quite a wide range of drinks for you to choose and even have soup. And the food is also very tasty, like popcorn chicken. But somehow, the whole gang got very tired and wanted to leave very soon. But we dragged until 5+am before leaving. Actually, I wanted to sing until 6am one lor. Come on, I was not the one who wanted this time slot but after deciding on this time slot, why be so idiotic and keep saying want to leave? You could have foreseen this fatigue when considering which time slot to take lor.

But nvm lah, what’s done cannot be undone. So we left around 5.15am. And OMG! The sky outside was already like 9am in the morning. So bright and shiny. Didn’t know that the sunrise in Taiwan is that early. Then the whole pack of tired souls took cabs back to our hostel.

End of Day 5.
